My 2000 Volvo v40's check engine light flashes, and it stall a bit while on the highway at about 50 mph. Once I let my foot of the gas peddle the flashing check engine light turns off, and the vehicle stops stalling. I recently gave it a tune up because the check engine came on while in the vehicle was in parking. Any idea of what could be going on. I want to have an idea before I take it back to the mechanic.

You can get the code stored (which it should have) read for nothing at Auto-Zone and perhaps others. It would take some guesswork out of what's wrong.

No doubt this service is in hopes you'll buy the parts there. If you get a fairly clear reading of what's wrong ask how much the part is both retail and your cost so you know what to expect.

You can tell your mechanic what was found but let them check it themselves because they are taking responsibility for the correct repair, T

If the MIL is flashing as you drive it is showing a misfire. The computer should have stored a code for the cylinder(s) that have the problem. This could be as simple as a bad spark plug or a fuel injector not firing.
