is it hard to replace catalytic converters on 2001 chevy camaro...is buying a repair guide worth it...thanks

Hey ,before you jump in and do this....remember the catalytic converter and the PCM are covered for 8 years/80,000 miles....whichever comes first...

Plus,if it a 5.7 V8 there is a special policy that extends the coverage on the catalytic converter to 10 years/120,000 miles....

Post back if your out of those parameters and I'll get you info/pics on how to install....
V6 or V8

it just passed 100000 miles this weekend and the engine light came on and a mechanic said it was a bad catalytic converter. our purchased extended warranty didnt cover catalytic converters or o2 sensors. should i take it to a dealer

If its a V8,then yes,there is a special policy that covers the converter up to 120k

Contact your dealer to check .

If its a V6 then no.....

Its Bulletin # 05513

Call them to see if yours falls under the Vin breakpoints...again if it s a V8 only.
