car wont unlock with fob key

imy wife has a corsa sxi 05 model it wont unlock dead locks she has to open it with key and they the alarm comes on and keeps going off we took it to the lookers garage yesterday and when they tried it it worked but when we got home we locked but it would not unlock again with fob key,can u please help?

You do mean a key fob remote don't you? You should have two of them I would think if you bought the car new. Try the other one or a new battery. It's early for a battery but if they are in a pocket or purse or whatever they may be pressing a button on it and run down a good battery quickly,

Ok, that explains it. Aftermarket theft controls and remote starters etc., are notorious for this crap. If you know where it was installed get it taken out. Near 75% of these things fail or cause more problems to legit owners and don't really get in the way of the determined thieves. If you need something I suggest a simple device like the steering wheel locks that don't really mess with the car at all. They will stop as many thieves as the alarms in my opinion.
Most real theft is for the parts of the car not the whole car or some just a joy ride. The GPS locaters don't invade the car either but the thieves know how to get the car to where that won't work and just take what they want.
Obviously I'm not a fan of aftermarket stuff. The car makers with billions of dollars of engineering screw up enough by themselves but at least there's a record of how and why things were done.
If easy enough you can try taking the remote apart as if you were changing the battery and gently rub the connections inside with a pencil eraser may solve it for now. You can check the battery with a simple multi-meter. Most batteries here are 3V so test with something that can do that. One remote only is dangerous just like having only one set of keys.
Your car is fairly new to have these problems but stuff happens. Good luck with the fix and what you decide to do about it,

thanks again tom,we are taking it to the chester branch of lookers this morning from where we purchased it from, and it is the second new car we bought off them so you think they would treat us better, trouble is they don't seem to listen to what you tell them,anyway thanks again i will let you know how we get on,kind regards, steve, wales, u.k.
