Does it stay running after the carb cleaner or just stall out? Either way a fuel pressure check is in order. If it stays running and well or starts when warm only look for the cold enrichment system to be the fault with all else checking out, T

The fuel pressure test and test while cranking engine too. Just maybe the fuel pump isn't getting power to it in crank mode. You should hear it come on in just run mode - build up pressure - then I would think it would start even if it's not working in the crank mode but perhaps not well.

Test that and let's see about power to fuel pump after that test when this happens, Keep at it, T

Cold enrichment is the way fuel injected vehicles behave like it has a choke. That shouldn't be needed at all with a warm engine just like chokes back when. Injected still needs the enrichment and pumping does nothing like a carb vehicle.

Hope that explains that, T

A new air filter wouldn't hurt most cars on the road today. You could test that by putting it all together without the air filter but if you try that make sure the unfiltered side of the box and any snorkling is cleared out and clean. You sure don't want to suck in leaves, road dirt or junk of any kind.

I think you have the air flow sensor on the air filter box or snorkling on that car and if you unplugged it (wiring) and it worked try putting it all together with it unplugged and see if it works. It should run very poorly with it unplugged and should set off your check engine light but not totally sure about that, T

Dump out any sand and leaves you may see, then blow it out with compressed air and it should be good for a test but you need the real paper filter soon after to stop that junk from getting sucked in, T
