car wont start on first try Sign In

Hello everybody,

i own a 2004 grand prix. everyonce in a while when i attempt to start my car it doesnt start on the first try. what it does is turn on, idle and then sputters then dies on me. so then i try to start again with a rough start then it catches on and stays on fine. I brought to a pontiac dealership and they cant diagnose anything. no lights comes on or any warning. i dont kno what to do..any help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Try putting ign to just the run position for a few seconds to build up fuel pressure -- you should hear the fuel pump buzz and shut off. Then start and if normal now it's a fuel pressure problem or leakdown of injectors that is excessive.

The rough running for a moment would make me check out the fuel pressure to be within spec, T
