my key was left in the "on" position over night. of course car didn't start the next day. tried to jump start the battery thinking that was the problem. bought a new battery. now the car will turn on but will shut off after about 2 seconds of running. 2000 pontiac grand am 2.4L please help...

you could have hooked up the cables wrong when you jumped it and fried the computer.. ive had that happen
