car won't start/fuel problems?

We have 99 escort, won't start. Engine trys to crank, is getting fuel to rail, plug 2& 3 are getting fuel, 1&2 aren't. Replaced fuel pump assembly, but that didn't fix the problem. I don't know where to go from here.

It’s a shame you changed a fuel pump; if two cylinders are getting fuel the pump has to be supplying fuel to the rail; no you don’t know the pressure but there’s only one pump and fuel rail, which are common to all cylinders.
Knowing or thinking that two cylinders are not getting fuel I would check whether the fuel injectors were being pulsed by the computer. You can do this easily with a noid light; they are a very low current test light that will plug into the disconnected fuel injector’s wiring connector. You would connect the noid light and crank the engine the light should flash on every time the computer would pulse the injector. Most auto part stores should have them; here’s a picture of what one looks like, you’ll need the one that would plug into your cars harness. Let us know what you find?
