brakes and steering problems Sign In

I have a 2001 chevy silverado 2500 hd gas 6.0 liter it is having problems i can barely turn the steering wheel and the brakes are barely working. what are somethings this could be its not leaking any fluid.

Those are common for the p/s pump shaft to snap internally. If you are usings a hydraboost brk system then you would lose your brk power assist also.

Take the belt off & tug on the p/s pump pulley. If it slips out, then that's your problem.....

I 'Third that'! Didn't know "HydroBoost" was still popular but can see why in an HD application - check fluid level in PS reservoir first of course.........
