i got a 96 chevy 1500 5.0L when you push the button to turn on the ac the compresser cluch doesnt turn on (the light on the ac button doesn't light up either.

Have you checked the fuses?/ also theres a relay too. A circut tester/probe would help if you have oneUnsure,and since the light isn't coming on I would ckeck the a/c button tooCrazy

i checked the ac clutch its not locked up. i checked the fuse its good, where is the ac relay located. thanks i appreciate the help

dont know if U.S. cars a/c's are the same but in some of our cars there is a pressure switch on or in the line close to the dryer. That will stop power getting to the compressor clutch if gas is low or the switch has failed.

True on the LP switch and those can stop the show and are supposed to with low pressure. Trouble is this doesn't even light up the dash switch so that probably isn't the problem??
