Check engine came up, got oxygen sensor replaced, drove around 40 miles, evap isn't ready along with issue with catalytic con. Mechanic said, let engine cool off for 8 hours, idle for 2 mintues and drive around 50mph for 20 minutes, did that still no good. Before that I drove the car for a good 200 miles but no particular drive cycle. Total mileage after initial repair is at least 400. Went on google today and found mazda 2003 drive cycle it says for EVAP to T2 (more than 15 minutes) and go 40-50 mph (V2) for 300 seconds and to idle for 200 seconds. Will try that tomorrow, but what exactly is T2 (more than 15 minutes)? just start car and wait 15 minutes (idle)? Any other advice you have for me? 10 day extension for inspection is over but no tickets yet.

Are there any codes being stored in the engine computer? pending codes?
Also would help to know the year, make, model, and engine size.

Sorry, new to this so will try to explain from what I understand. I was probably scanned 10 times after getting Oxygen sensor replaced, all the 10 times mechanic said you still have 2 codes left, you need to clear one of them. One is EVAP , the other with catalytic converter but both codes are not ready so it will only say its "not ready"... mechanic said that most likely u have a faulty catalytic con so if it code shows up your engine will light up again but if EVAP passes, you are good to go anyway but EVAP wont pass. need to drive more. Hopefully this clears it up

Year, make, model, and engine size. What are the code numbers that are popping up?

code numbers are not popping out because its not ready yet, needs to be driven more.

If you have code(s) pending or current, depending on the code(s) some monitors won't ready. For example: You have an O2 sensor code popping up. The catalyst monitor won't run because it uses the O2 sensors to test the catalyst. There are certain prerequisites that have to be achieved for certain monitors to ready and run.

Yeah I will try doing a drive cycle tomorrow that I found online. Would you be able to look at my question about what T2 means in terms of the drive cycle itself.

Well, your missing part of the information that describes what T and V are for.
Read this:

The only problem I see is that the drive chart doesn't match what I am showing in service information, but you could try that to see if it works for you. Notice that there has to be criteria met and there can't be any trouble codes stored or else the monitors won't ready.
Just so you know. FTL is fuel tank level.
