Fuse Help?? Sign In

My husband's 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 truck lost its power to the radio, interior lights and power mirror....anyone have any ideas? Heard it could be a relay fuse....but how to we know which one ? Trying to fix without having to take it to the dealer. Thanks!

Response posted already above. I don't see the need for a relay for these items - just fuses, T

You said use a test light? What's that? He checked the fuses and couldn't "see" any problem. Apparently it happened while he was adjusting his drive's side power mirror,...then no radio no interior light.

A test light is like a scratch awl with a wire and clip at the but end and it will light up the handle when it senses current. A fuse can look good and not be. This would prove it. The fuse needs to be empowered by some devices by the ign key but not the interior lights, T

They are a basic for cars. I should have said that you can sharpen it real good and pierce a wire for testing. The price of these things range from $4.96 at Wally World on up and you get what you pay for. You'll find it handy for years.

Should also have said you can put a piece of vacuum hose over the sharp end and you are less likely to impale yourself when it's in your tool box - but if doing almost anything on your car doesn't cause bleeding you are NOT working hard enough! T
