Anything engine related on the 3.4 1994 Firebird...I'll tell you that much...

I mean...I'm just putting in the water pump...And the way the engine sits (Like half of it under my dash), I had to take off the Intake system, coil packs, power steering.....etc...

I was on it from 6 to 11 last night..and just got the pump ON...Gotta put the rest of it back together today....Ugh

So my question is......wait..I guess there is no question...Just wanted to complain and say hello to Hammer!

Not sure why you took the intake off on that. The only thing that needed to be removed is the power steering pump. Flat rate on that job is 2.5 hours.

  2. Air duct and electrical connector.
  3. Top coil of coil pack.
  4. Loosen tensioner pulley bolt/screw.
  5. heater hose from pump.
  6. Loosen water pump pulley bolts/screws (27).
  7. Power steering bracket bolts/screws.
  8. Serpentine belt.
  9. Water pump pulley (28).
  10. Power steering pump bracket and pump.
  11. Water pump bolts/screws (29).
  12. Engine front cover bolts/screws (30).
  13. Water pump cover bolts/screws (31).
  14. Water pump assembly (32) and water pump gasket (33).
  15. Clean all gasket surfaces and water pump bolts/screws.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
  1. New water pump gasket.
  2. Water pump assembly.
  3. Water pump cover bolts/screws and tighten to45 Nm (33 lb ft) .
  4. Engine front cover bolts/screws and tighten to11 Nm (97 lb in) .
  5. Water pump bolt/screw and tighten to10 Nm (89 lb in) .
  6. Power steering pump and bracket.
  7. Water pump pulley.
  8. Serpentine belt.
  9. Power steering pump bracket bolts/screws and tighten to40 Nm (30 lb ft) .
  10. heater hose to pump.
  11. Top coil of coil pack.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean the entire intake system, I just mean the Air Duct...We didn't have to take the intake off...

And it's taking longer than ususal cuz we were workin on it in the dark with a porch light and flashlights mostly..and the Coil and power steering were difficult to get a wrench on...

But he did let me drive his '76 Stingray....and..I loved that..

If I remember right, you just put a 10mm socket right through the holes in the pulley to get the power steering pump off.

It was bracketed on to a mounting bracket on the back, and it was a pain to get to....

And also something concerning me...One of the Top Bolts out of the water pump..It was coated pretty heavily in some nasty, hot oil...And that's not good...
