Wonky Windshield Wipers

I recently replaced the windshield wipers and arms on my 1995 Dodge Intrepid. As soon as I turned them on they wiped from the starting position all the way past the windshield, effectively wiping a complete 180 degree radius instead of just 90! The motors that turn the wipers are the drum-head type, meaning they are circular with many grooves and one big groove called a "key hole" where a ridge inside the arms attaches. So I know I have the arms installed in the correct places. This is all confusing because in the starting position my wipers are where they need to be (flat, parallel with the hood facing right) but the motors are obviously turning them too far. Is there a way I could adjust the motors to limit their range of motion? What could be other potential problems? Thanks for your expertise!

HA! Looks like I've been able to stump even the grease monkeys around here! But seriously, does this sound like a bad pair of motors? Perhaps even a professional needs to align the motors back into place? I am a bit stumped and I'd prefer not go poking and prodding around any point on my car without being safe in the knowledge that I'm not going to royally screw something up...

I'm sure you screwed up the installation somehow but nobody wants to begin to guess how you did it.

Spoken like a true professional! I wasn't trying to imply that you guys didn't know what you were talking about, I just needed someone in here to lend some credible advice, but it's pretty apparent that you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder. Sorry for that. I suppose I would have a similarly bad attitude about life if I was an underpaid auto mechanic, too.

Hmmmmmmmmm...... I'm guessing you are no longer looking for advise.
Some people in life really seem to have the oddest approach when seeking advise from others... They are insulting, showing no respect and then have no clue why they get attitude....
Let see....driving a 95 Intrepid, feebly attempting an easy repair yourself with not much success...
I'm sure you are at the top of your field...
I think I see where your attitude comes from. An underpaid tech's salary is probably just a pipe dream for you....
