Windshield Wiper stem

1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE 3.3 Litre V6 136K miles....
Ho we got our van a couple of week ago tranny went straight away , got that fixed but now realised passenger side windshield wiper isnt working ... where abouts do I tighten the nut ? Do i have to remove the dash to do so or is there another way?

Darren; At the base of the wiper arm where it meets the cowl, there is a plastic cover that will pull open to expose a nut that attaches the arm to the wiper transmission pivot. Try tightening that nut. It is possible that the teeth on the pivot have been damaged or the teeth on the arm, but is definitely worth a try tightening, first. If the pivot requires replacement, it's not as bad as you'd think. It just requires removing both wiper arms and the metal cowling.

thanks Loren before you said where to look i was automatically thinking somewhere under the dash like on a landrover ..... I took the arm off the spines on the spindel are great but the ones on the arm are shot so going to have to get a new one tomorrow ...

Wolf; Glad to hear it's a simple fix! Pretty common problem, especially in snow country. Very hard on the wipers.
