Well Im back fella's. Today my little boy ran down the back passenger side window all the way and now it is stuck down. It is an electric window and neither the switch on the door or the switch on the driver door work for it, im assuming the regulator went bad. My problem is it is winter time and cold and I just want the window up, until I have time to repair it. The thing won't budge a millimeter. I ripped the entire door panel off to see if I could see anything and got nowhere. I'm not at all familiar with power windows, or the motor and guide system they work on. Can someone terll me how to get that window up by hand for now. I had my wife and I both pulling on it and it wont budge, just need to know how to get it up for the time being. Thanks

It's not going to move unless the motor starts working. You might as well resign yourself to repairing it.

That it what I figured being how most of the regulators have a self locking worm gear that they run. I love working in the freezing cold. I'll be back in touch when a run into a snag. Thanks

Did you try tapping on the window motor while someone holds the switch in the up position?

If you've already got the panel off & the motor exposed you should be able to get the window. If the motor worked going down more than likely you have a bad switch...
I don't have a diagram handy but there should only be 2 wires going to the motor. The way it works is, it just reverses the power & ground to go up or down....... Just ground one of the wires and supply power (preferably from a fused jumper) to the other one, if nothing happens reverse the ground wire & supply power to the other wire....One of those combinations will get the window to go up.....Then leave the motor disconnected until you are ready to troubleshoot the problem....

So if the switch on the door itself is bad then my, then mydriver door switch for the back passenger door window will not work to roll it up either? Wouldnt the easiest way to test this be to pop out another switch from another door and connect it the the window that wont work? Also my haines repair manual said in order the remove the regulator, the window has to be fully up. So apparently I have to get this window up with or without power. Thanks

Test the suspect switch for power and ground which alternate for up and down as Sidom said. Same motor just different polarity for direction. If it just went down motor was good. Not sure for sure on anything but if a window switch was held too long it could have hurt the motor for any action.
Dumb test but works: Since it wont work from driver's control or at the door with key just to run position, engine off test a working window first while looking at dome light for instance. It will flicker or dim a bit if accepting current. Then try the broken one. If not the same reaction that's a good clue motor isn't accepting any power - burned brushes or whatever.
Same as testing with a test light if power swaps then motor isn't getting or taking that request and if not or nothing then it will be wire chasing for where it stops,
