No idea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

OMG - another old phart! "Curb Feelers - yikes" it's 1950 all over again. That long nut is hardware found to connect two plain threaded rods not seen in vehicles. Why? IDK for sure but may have been put there for some totally other reason to hold something no longer needed or used?? It didn't come with a car/truck of any kind that I know of, T

If it was in the front or rear I would say it's a place for a tow hook, but not in the side of the car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
