Did we get taken or were all those problems possible or did he go the last resort replace engine to fix problem. Original problem the PC valve blew out and oil had water in it. If not it's a crap shoot. Mechanics should know this and that's a reason this job isn't just tossing in 30-40 bucks in gaskets. It failed within a mile! Did they even check their work? Why now do they feel so confident of two other problems?? He said that he recommended a oil change within a week because it was still a little milky. The argument he is giving us is that the heads were bad then when he went further after that he found crack in lower intake and then when he fixed that he then did a compression or some dye test and it showed the cylinder problem. My question is if the head job was not done right would the same thing happen pcv valve blowing and then water in oil. I think that he went to the last resort saying engine was bad because he wasn't capable of finding the problem. When we got the car back he suggested a oil change within a week because the oil was still a little milky, but didn't have a chance to do that because the car failed less than a mile. I think that we just got a sleezy mechanic. he gave us a 90 warranty on parts and labor and I think that since he did not fix original problem I should not have to pay anything more to have the car fixed. They were there looking at this! If heads were in need of resurfacing due to warpage that's an alarm to check hard for other things. People make mistake and sometimes stuff just gets unoticed but when enough damage is seen the first time then you should have been consulted as to how you wanted to approach this. If enough coolant leaked in to cause compression lock or crack top of a piston this would have had wild symptoms real quick. I'm not there. You need to work this out with the shop. At this point the original head gasket job was a waste!
