VW Passat Computer light query

I have a 1.8 VW Passat from 2000 and some symbols have appeared on the red fault screen on the dash. One is a theta (or zero with a diagonal line through it) and the other is a 1 in a box in the top right corner. I have no idea what this means and I don't want to spring for an owner's manual. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Buy an owner's manual dammit! It's mandatory for car ownership. Here are the VW common icons. In general red warnings are serious trouble. The circle below in either amber or red could mean parking brake or an hydraulic brake problem. The "horsehoe" one appears to be for tire pressure. Diagonal appear to be seat belt and a "1" in a box may be to catch your attention!
