Recently the check engine light came on, and since then it has been stalling sometimes (not every time), when I come to a stop or slow down. Generally I can just start it back up again, but a few days ago it stalled out in traffic and would not turn over. The engine made the "roorooroo" (heh) sound of trying to start, but never turned over. I took it to a mechanic and it started right away, then stalled on the way home. When it stalls out the battery light comes on. I just want to get an idea of what kinds of problems can cause this issue before I take it to a dealership and get charged an arm and a leg for them to do a diagnostic. Can you help?
