Unstable driving

My car has been unstable when going across bumps or railroad tracks. I replaced two tires that were low on tread and had an alignment and have noticed no results. It seems to be worse when traveling on the interstate at speeds over 65mph. When I hit a bump it pulls the car and the steering doesn't always catch right away. It is like I turn the wheel and then all of the sudden it'll catch and pull the car back. Recently the car hit some water and went off the road. Nothing seems to be damaged but it's time to get it fixed and I'm not sure what it could be. I'd appreciate any help.
