Trunk will not open

Hi. I have a 2004 Infiniti G35X Sedan. The trunk will no longer open with the remote control or the inside trunk release switch inside the car. The only way I can open the trunk is using the emergency release inside the trunk. I did verify the trunk switch was set to "on" in the glove compartment. Any idea what may be causing this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Sometimes the latch gets stuck or the cable release gets stiff. Spray a little WD40 on the latch, both in the trunk latch and on the trunk cover itself. Then, while open, Find the cable (located on the trunk) and pull it back and forard to get some looseness. Move the latch back and forward also to loosen it up as well. Let me know how that goes.
