My trunk release button on the door acts quite strange. It will work sporadically, with no rhyme or reason, and usually after several attempts, even 10 or more. Then other times, it will work right away. Does anyone know enough about how these things are set up to know what might be causing this oddness?

Usually(not always) it is the fault of the switch. The switch contacts get dirty and cause problems.

+1 on the switch. think how many times that button gets used. switch is usually cheap lol...ya never know sometimes. and the mental gratification of getting the trunk to open everytime will def be worth it

And the switch is accessed/cleaned how? It would be under the door panel, or?
