Trouble taking car out of park???

I have a 1999 Honda Passport. When you put it in park the button that you push in to take it out of park wont go in??? Once you get it out of park you can move it to all out gears but once in park again it take along time to be able to change again. PLEASE HELP !!

I had that happen on an old Ford Aspire once. I had to take the console cover off and reset the
spring, and WD-40'd the mechanism. Pain in the ...
Only did it on cold mornings.
Don't know about Hondas
