Transmission Range sensor Sign In
I'm replacing the Transmission Range sensor on my 1998 Mercury Sable V-6 DOHC.I read the replacing info at autozone and they talk of using a special tool.Do I really need this tool?If so where where can I find one? Thanks

You can replace it without the tool. Place car in neutral, set emergency brake. There are 2 little lines that need to be lined up. One on the center part and one on the outside housing. If you have these marks lined up, tighten the bolts and you will be OK.
