1998 Toyota Corolla neutral safety switch Where is the neutral safety switch on a 98Toyota Corolla?
I am in the Philippines and have a 98 Toyota Corolla LS GLI and some times it will not start in park and have to start it in natural. I bought a new battery heavy duty yesterday and out of starting it 20 times to day 2 times it would not start and had to start it in N I live part time in Cebu Philippines and was thinking of taking it to a mechanic in the city that has worked on it before . But where is the neutral safety switch located and can it go out of adjustment . It's right on the side of the transmission, mounted on the gear selector shaft.

Thanks i will print off the picture and take it when i go have it looked at can it be adjusted or is it a part to be replaced when something like this happens run the car all day today and many start up and no problem can't under stand why it does it some times Norm from Cebu Philippines

Yes, it can be adjusted but if the problem just started, it's likely because the switch is worn and adjustment won't fix that.
