Tire Troubles Sign In

Hi, everyone...

I have a little situation that I was hoping someone would be able to steer me in the right direction about:

I have a '91 Ford Aerostar that I depend on for my six member family. The problem I have is that the two front tires are in very, very bad shape and one has a puncture in it that fix-a-flat has not been able to seal. I cannot find a tire shop in the area with used tires and I will not be able to afford new tires for a long while.

I do also have a '92 Cutlass Supreme that no longer runs and I was wondering if it were possible to switch the tires from the Cutlass to the Aerostar so we can get around again.

The Aerostar has 21575r14s and the Cutlass has 20570r15s. I would appreciate any help you can give me. This is our only mode of transportation

Thanks in advance!

Re: Tire Troubles Sign In

The tires will not interchange. One is a 14 inch tire and the other is a 15 inch tire. The 15 inch will not stay on a 14 inch wheel. The wheels will not interchange either. So you can not change the wheels from one to the other and the tires will not swap on the wheels. Sorry.

Is it possible that the rims from the Cutlass can just be put on the van for the time being?

Sorry. I don't think the bolt pattern is anywhere near the same.

Re: Tire Troubles Sign In

Have you checked out junkyard or even tire stores? There are quite a few safe, legal used tires out there at least around here - some with a price and others with cost of mount, balance and disposal of your old ones,
