2005 Ford Escape, 6 cylinder, 3 litre, 105,000miles. Replacing battery after 1 year and noticing that the anti-theft alarm would sound-off for no apparent reason, leads me to believe that this is the cause of my battery being drained, especially since the car has never been broken into. I've noticed my new battery is getting weaker. I cannot tell how often my escape does this because I am not always within earshot. Of course, this is very annoying to my neighbors and me. I have resorted to disconnecting the battery for the night or when I don't anticipate using the car for a while. I cannot figure out how to troubleshoot the problem. Any suggestions?

Check to see if the interior lights are coming on by themselves. The door jam switches are built into the latch and they have a lot of problems with them triggering a door ajar. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
