The wife's Maxima is killing batteries

Batteries last about 15 - 20 months in my wife's 2007 Maxima. They seem to be fine for months, then they get weak, they won't hold a charge, and they have to be replaced. I had driven the car about two weeks before the last battery died, and didn't notice any issues in cranking the car, it started up ok.
The original battery, an Interstate brand battery and batteries from Walmart, it's all he same. Any thoughts on what the issue might be?

What is the weather like there?
Is the battery hold down bracket working? If the battery is bouncing around the vibrations can damage the plates.
Does the vehicle sit around for extended periods of time?

Thanks for the replies guys. The car doesn't sit for extended periods, and the bracket that holds the battery down has always been tight. The battery terminals and cable connectors have a little gunk on them when I change the battery, but nothing unusual at all, and the cables connectors always stay tight.
The only aftermarket item that's ever been on the `car is a radar detector. The wiring is hard wired, but the detector itself has only been connected for maybe a total of a year and a half over the 5 and 1/2 years the wife has had the car (she doesn't care for gadgets). I'll remove the wiring, but it's wired so that the detector went off and on as you turned the car off and on. Hard to see that being the issue, but you never know. It's simple enough to disconnect.
