96 Dodge Stratus/6 cylinder/80,000

My car has been jerking when I drive(especially up-hill). I tried cranking it and it wouldn't do anything, no noise. I have a new battery so I know it isn't that. And i got AAA to check the alternator, not that either. Do you know what the problem could be??
