I have a 2007 chevy Tahoe. It has 67k miles. A few weeks ago it started making a weird flapping noise. The noise is similar to when you put a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle. The noise starts around 30 mph. and the "clicking" gets faster the faster you go. but it stops around 30mph. i thought it was a piece of trash or something stuck under neath but i can't find anything hanging loose. There is no grinding. no problems with acceleration or shifting.. just this weird flapping noise. any help would be greatly appreciated..

Guess 1: Wheel bearing or if 4X4 a CV joint. Try hoisting it up and spin the wheels - there should be no free play and a good bearing makes no noise but you may hear some rubbing from brakes. Guess 2: You might be being fooled by a bad bearing in belt system. Take the belt off and same thing - the pulleys and tensioner, alternator etc should be silent - no free play, if a fan and clutch set up rock it back and forth. Guess 3: Don't know what wheels you would have - make sure they are properly tight! Take off the cosmetic stuff leaving it off wheels for a test run. Guess 4: U joints can make a racket too. Sorry for all guesses, noises are tough without being there, T
