Steering "feels" funny when driving slowly. Sign In

I have a 2005 Toyota Camry and I am having a slight problem with the steering. I'm not sure what it is. There isn't any noise associated with it, but It comes up through the steering wheel/column and feels like a small slap or as if something just "clicked" over, particularly after I stop and begin to slowly accelerate, or when I'm driving very slowly as in a parking lot , or even with the slightest of turns, especially right turns. This usually only happens at a very slow rate of speed. I feel it in particular when I'm driving through the Mall parking lot to work. I sometimes also feel the "click" come up through the steering wheel /column after I've gone over a speed bump. My Toyota has about 82,000 miles on it and so far has had no major problems. I was told that the power steering drive belt was getting worn and needed to be replaced, would this be the problem?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I doubt that the power steering drive belt would cause this but anything is possible?
I’m things that this may be a separated/torn belt in a tire? When this happens to a tire, a lump will from in the tire’s tread area. As you’re driving and run over this lump, it will/could cause some of the things you mentioned.
Regardless whether this is a tire, worn suspension or steering parts get the vehicle in and checked. A separated tire could blow at anytime and this is the only warning it’s giving you.
