2002 Hyundia SanteFe Starts fine. Once I put it in Drive and accelerate it stalls. If I baby the pedal it runs ok but will hiccup or misfire and buck a few times then it seems to go away shortly there after. This started after a heavy rain for two days but it's been over a month now. Is this a sensor? Vacuum leak? Thanks and I appreciate any info. Changed the air filter and put in injector cleaner, didn;t help

Which engine? Check engine light on? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Ys it is Massive Air Flow Sensor. Took it out sprayed it with cleaner CRC brand and still has issue. When I accelerate hard it bucks as if it's missing or bucking and babying the throttle seems to get me by until the engine is running for a bit

Do you know the code number that you are getting for the MAF sensor? It is either going to be a P0101,P0102, or P0103. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

No I don't I Went to the local Auto parts store. I unplugged the MAS and still same problem. stalls as if it's not getting any fuel then back. weird must be a bad MAS? But I hear they don't go bad and if they do you get only too lean fuel mix?

Without knowing the MAF sensor code that you got, it is hard to determine if that code may have set when you unplugged the MAF. Driveability problems on EFI vehicles are very hard to diagnose unless you have some test equipment and results from tests. You may have to take it to a driveability tech to have it diagnosed. Somethings that may have to be checked are: *MAF voltage output in relation to engine speed( requires scan tool or volt meter) *Fuel rail pressure(requires a fuel pressure gauge and special adapters) *Crank sensor waveform (requires O-scope. Seen crank sensor signals breaking up on these causing misfires and stalling) *Secondary ignition (inspect wires, inspect plugs, and test coil performance) Obviously most DIY don't have this equipment, so telling you what could be wrong without test data is near impossible. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP! I SOLVED THIS PROBLEM! I went to youtube watched some videos on MAFS and found out how they work. I googled a price for one from 200$ to 45$ and bought one from discountbodypart.com as they offered the best price and warrantee. I installed it in under 3 minutes and PROBLEM SOLVED!! THE MASSIVE AIR FLOW SENSOR WENT BELLY UP AND I SAVED MYSELF PROBABLY $200 to $500! I AM HAPPY! THANK YOU DISCRETESIGNALS! YOU ARE G8!
