Starting/Running problems with my '95 Chevy S10. Sign In

I recently came upon this truck. I had a friend in auto school work on it. No error codes, checked the fuel injectors, checked and cleaned the spark plugs. Replaced the pick up coil. Alternator and battery replaced. Cooling system flushed.

When driving it - the fuel gauge bounces, even at full. The car while driving with stall, as in all of a sudden the RPMs will drop to 0. then jump back up. Yesterday I got it started and took it on a 50mi drive(backroads - no freeway). Noticed no problems. The RMPs stayed constant. They took it out a couple hours later to fill the gas from 1/2 to full. After doing so, the car wouldn't turn over. The first time it turned over then died immediately. Couldn't get it to start there after. I had my friend who's a 1st year automotive student look at it. He says it's getting no fuel. So since the pick up coil was replaced it might be the ignition module... I'm wondering if it's possibly the fuel pump. Does anyone have any opinions/ideas on this matter?

Check and see if its getting spark.
Take a fuel pressure test with a fuel pressure gauge.

Back when all the plugs were check at the school by my friend - they passed and it was getting spark. The other day when the car wouldn't start after I had driven it for 50 miles 2 hours prior - it wasn't getting spark at that moment...

Haven't tested the fuel pressure...

If it wasnt getting spark ,that needs to be addressed.
I would be looking into crankshaft position sensor and/or Ignition module.
Here is a link for testing the CKP sensor...

Get that fuel pressure tested...see where thats at..
Its not uncommon to have fuel pump problems on these models as well as a faulty connector back at the fuel pump.
Replacement fuel pump modules come with a new connector to eliminate this problem.
