Squeking sound from front driver wheel Sign In

UnsureMy kia rio have got a new sound thats completely confused me:

Its a squeking/ metal sound from the front drivers wheel. I have jacked up the wheel and rotate the wheel and there is a rough metal sound that follows the rotation. There is no play with the wheel!.

The squeking sound comes consistently and in tandem with wheel rotation whether I drive fast or slow speeds because of this it is more audible when i drive at slow speeds. I have taken off the wheel and moved the hub rotating it and the sound is still present.

The sound comes clealry from the front drivers right side and can be heard turning the wheel or hub axle by hand!.

The last work done to the vehicle as follows:

1. Changed wheel hub (300km ago )
2. Installed new drive shaft ( done 1000km ago)
3. Installed new wheel bearings both front ( done 1000km ago)
4. Adjusted anti rattle on brake pad ( front) both sides.

A good mechanic who took it for testdrive advised me that its the wheel bearing but i find it hard to believe because I just replaced the wheel bearing by the dealer, 1000kms ago with a genuine part. I am on verge of taking it to another mechanic!.

Any suggestions whould be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A lot can happen to a bearing in a 1000 miles . Thats what they have warrenties for . If you have a warrenty on the bearing go back to the installer . Otherwise trust the knowledge of a good mechanic .
