That's a pretty vague description but sounds like a belt problem. Have the belts inspected to determine if there are any problems there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Sounds like an alternator or idler pulley bearing. Remove the belt, start the car and see if the squeal is still there. The narrow it down.

GUEST, You really should register and log in for answering questions. You need to have an identity here. There are way too many guests and no one will know who is giving them advice.

If it's good advice, what does it matter?

Because we want to know who to credit with the advice when it's not so good.
