Skoda 120 L 1980 driven 1100 miles

Classic car.

I was on my way home and I turned on the lights because it was getting dark. My lights flashed and there was almost like a backfiring sound coming from the back (rear engine car).
My car has been struggling with electricity and I KNOW that the battery is really bad and I'm about to swap it. So I immidiately switched the lights off again and got home. When I had stopped I turned the lights on and the car died.
I believe the alternator has died. The car would not start again, completely dead. I had done about 30 miles or so.
Please give suggestions. Recommend swapping out the battery and then switch on the lights maybe?

If the battery is bad, then you should get a replacement. Take the alternator to a place that can test it. Don't stick a new alternator on there with a bad battery or you'll end up cooking the new alternator.

That's awesome Smile Is it pretty cold up there right now? I just bought some Reyka Vodka and can't wait to try it.

Well. The name excaturates the conditions really.

Greenland and Iceland should swap names. Greenland is like 70% snow/ice in the winter but this year is the coldest start of winter in half a decade. The coldest point in Iceland yesterday was -27°c. Where I live it was about -4°c. In the summer we get about 5-20°c on a daily basis.

Reykja vodka is without a doubt one of the finest vodka you can get. The taste of it is very extinguishable from other cheap brands like smirnoff etc.
