2005 Honda Accord v6 ~70k milesSeveral months back I brought my 2005 Honda Accord in and had the Serpentine Belt replaced at a local auto shop. Prior to bringing the car in, I would routinely get about 23 miles per gallon around town. Since bringing the car in, I have been getting about 19-20 mpg around town. Is there some way that the Serpentine belt (or the way it was installed) impacted my mileage? Thanks, Greg

No, not really. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Check tire pressure. when was the last time the vehicle had a full maintenance service done? Do you always use the same fuel station? Take anything out of the car you don't need: golf clubs, bag of bricks etc..etc.lol -------------------------------------------------------- Your only as good as your tools!

Agree with Hammer Time and Mr. Scotty - will add that if using a new gas station OR if more ethanol is being use which may be done with soon you will see less MPG with ethanol fuel mix than real gas. With recent acquisition, if you just started using A/C you could notice a drop in MPG. That and IMO you get more fuel if cold and air is denser so propensity for more MPGs from that exists. Not many that I've hear of, but some gas station cheat! Most folks wouldn't notice 5-10% less product. Proven by a family member that a station cheated - that time a bit too much as more fuel went in than tank's listed capacity and wasn't totally empty to begin with! Most stations are checked for accuracy and label applied when last verified and we all have to trust that wasn't corrupt, T
