Have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with security light flashing. Car will not start or do anything. What do I do?

Put the key in & turn on all the way to the start position & then release to the on position & let sit for 10 to 15 minutes (may have to hook up a charger, don't interupt the cycle) then try to start. If it doesn't start turn the key all the way off & repeat up to 3 times.... If that doesn't work you have to tow it to a shop to have the VATS repaired.
