Sign In Hi I have a renault megane priveledge+ convertable, 02 plate. 1.6 engine, 45,000 mileage. Everytime the engine is on the car makes a knocking noise and shakes, however it is fine while driving but shakes when stationary. Please help if you know what the problem may be! Thanks! Sign In Marjina; The shaking is hopefully from an ignition system misfire. The noise associated with the shaking may be the engine hitting something....exhaust pipe banging against something solid. Weak motor mounts can allow this to happen. Hopefully, the knocking noise is not coming from inside the engine. Should have a mechanic take a look at it.
