I have the same issue with my 2001 VW Jetta and have gone through the same replacements (At $3000 now). One addition is the battery shorted about two months ago and lately I sometimes get a shock when inserting the key in the ignition. Today the epc and no power condition came back with vengeance...switching off ignition for five minutes has helped and I am going to my mechanic when I get back in town -- if I make it.
I expect yet another huge bill. Is it time?
