Before diving into a head gasket I would have the mechanic determine the cause of the no start.
With this engine being allowed to overheat to the point of the engine stopping I would be concerned with what else may have happened because of the overheating.
Things like seizing the camshaft and breaking the timing belt is one of the possibilities along with a number of others.
It could very well just be the gasket that has blown so badly that there’s no compression but that’s where a compression test and finding the cause of the no start should be done before anything.

I’m not sure what happened but it didn’t do what I expected the tread to do OOPS. LOL
I’ll post something on the original thread letting them know what I tried to do.
