Rattle Noise Sign In

I have a 97 Ford Ranger. I just Replaced ball joints and tie rod ends. There is a rattle noise in the front end when i hit small bumps and pot holes. I have no clue of what else it could be.

Re: Rattle Noise Sign In

How are the shocks? A broken shock can cause that. Also stabilizer links can do it.

Re: Rattle Noise Sign In

on the bottom shock mount the rubber bushing can become enlarged allowing the shock to get some slack causing the rattle. its hard to see with the load on the wheels.

this was the case in my 95 explorer that had a phantom rattle

yeah that worked when i replaced the shocks, no more rattle, the bolt on the bottom was all messed up and loose. But when i start it some times when the engine is cold and i start it it revs up and down when idling but when the egine is warm it doesnt do it

Re: Rattle Noise Sign In

Check the idle speed control motor for the surgoing idle. BTW, thanks for replying on the noise. Appreciate the fix post.
