RUSTED/ CORRODED BRAKE & TIRE AREA ON 05 IMPALA Sign In

5 DAYS AGO I PURCHASED A USED 05 CHEVY IMPALA WITH 50K MILES ON IT. ABOUT A DAY OR 2 AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR I WAS LOOKING AT THE BRAKE & TIRE AREA & FOUND SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF RUST COVERING THE BRAKE AREA & THE ENTIRE AREA BEHIND THE TIRES. IS THIS NORMAL? WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE HELP.

Friction area of rotors can show rust in a day in certain conditions and not be a problem. It should shine right up with just a short amount of use. If this is pitted or flaking rusted parts it needs careful inspection. Brakes may pulse and need attention even if pad wear shows fine,
