Primary hood latch not catching

The primary latch on the hood won't catch. The secondary latch works, but again, the hood won't close all the way due to the primary latch not catching. When I pull the hood release under the driver's side, I just see a slight wiggle on the wire that goes into the latch assembly.
How do I repair?

btw, it's a 2002 Honda Accord coupe.
