Power steering pump leaking Sign In

Good morning,
I have a 2001 Ford Windstar that is leaking fluid at the power steering pump. Approx. 4 months ago I had the rack replaced and I was told the pressure hose is separate so I opted not to replace. Anyway, I loosened the pressure hose from the pump and I noticed the white teflon washer is missing. I only know this as the dealer sold me a washer and mentioned that it is difficult to replace. I am struggling and I need your help. Any thought s or suggestions. Thanks, Bill

I'm watching but don't know what to tell you. How is it you even noticed a missing washer? I thought all high pressure was just flare fittings and not washers??

I noticed the leak at the fitting, checked with the ford parts department, they told me to replace the teflon washer/ring or replace the pressure hose.

Perhaps you could just bring the hose into the shop and ask them to replace it and if for some reason it really can't be done then it's out waiting for a new one. I wish I could see this and a pic wouldn't even help me as I'd have to have this right in my hand to understand this problem - sorry,

There is a tool that is used to install the washer/sealing ring. It is plastic and sorta looks like a small thimble.
