Power Outlet Fuse Sign In

I believe the accessory power outlet fuse has blown in my '00 Dodge Neon. Could someone tell me where that fuse would be. I couldn't find it listed in the interior fuse panel (unless it would be grouped with the radio, or heater, or something) I checked the underhood panel but couln't read any of the fuse labels there.

Thanks

Re: Power Outlet Fuse Sign In

I think i found out what fuse it is, its one of the under hood ones. The Second column its the fifth one up, just had to wash off the cover a little bit to get there. Just one thing, on the diagram its listed as "20 Amp Power Outlet" but in the spot where it gets pluged in theres only a 10 Amp fuse.

I'm guessing thats why it blew but what do you think is the reason theres only a 10 amp fuse plugged in? Just a mistake by the previous owner? Should i just replace it with the specified 20 Amp one?

Thanks,

Jim

Re: Power Outlet Fuse Sign In

If sure it's 20 amp then absolutely ok to put that in. Many cars come with a few spares and that may have been the only one left to use by someone else and would be ok till more juice was needed from a power port. 10amp would have charged cell phone stuff and so on just fine. Anything much more might have blown normally underfused.

NEVER overfuse anything!
