Hey guys so recently my car has been shaking when i get to a stop light. I can see the RPM constantly go from 500 to 1000, it goes up and down and in rare cases it has turned off on me but it has not done it in a while. It gets really bad when i am in bad traffic bumper to bumper and i have to constantly be accelerating and pressing the break and very low mph, 0-15 maybe 20 and breaking. It starts to shake like it's about to cut off on me till i give it gas again. Could this be the fuel filter? I have changed spark plugs and bought a new battery, not sure what else to check.

None of those symptoms suggest a fuel filter is the trouble. Fine to know one is new but get codes that it must have if only pending and post the #s found.

Tons more than just what you've done possible but fuel pressure and volume is one of them,

I'd be looking around the intake snorkel for any holes, cracks or hoses disconnected before blaming the MAF.

Re: Possible fuel filter? Sign In

Alrighty guys, after some time the problem returned. Yesterday in traffic my. Car Turned off three times. It happens when I'm mostly stuck in traffic, when I'm driving and I don't have to constantly be stopping and accelerating I don't have a problem. The car turns on without a problem. I already cleaned the maf sensor about threw days ago. Could it be a faulty sensor or maybe fuel. Pump?

Also it doesn't happen everyday, only some days, today in traffic if didn't do it but other days in traffic it will.

Re: Possible fuel filter? Sign In

Someone needs to look at scan tool data for the fuel rail pressure sensor and MAF voltage/lbs sec PIDs and watch fuel trims to see what rpm and engine load blocks the lean problem occurs.
