Hi, i hope someone can give me some good advice.
My Astra SXI yr02 started burning petrol really quickly, only getting about 100 miles for £20, or 20 litres of unleaded. There was a really bad smeel of petrol as well.
The engine management light had been coming on for a couple of months previous to that, but this was the first i noticed any problem on the running of the car.
I took it to a garage and the guy told me the 'Throttle Body' was showing on the diagnostics and he said that was causing the engine to burn more fuel.
It cost me £490 to get this replaced, but it didn;t fix the fault. The engine management light isn't coming on now though and the guy has said there might be another fault causing the petrol to burn.
Main question is, am i getting ripped off?
Did i pay for the Throttle Body to get replaced when it wasn't faulty in the first place?
