 2002 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 vortec sometime it simply doesn't start. 10 minutes later starts 1st turn of the key. after doing this a few times over 5 or6 days suddenly stalls driving down rd. Tow it home starts right up to drive off trailer. starting fluid was used after it stalled and it started again but only made it 5 or 6 miles then stalled again please help!!! Second time over a few months this happened. Had new fuel pump put on and after 1st time this problem happened checked that fuel pump to discover person who installed it had it on with it crimped over wasn't fit into position correctly after that was corrected it was a couple months before had further problems. Not sure if related but recently dash lights started going off when brake pedal pressed plus sometime it will over ecclerate a lot with no rhyme nor reason.
Others opinions:when it isn't starting it is turning over good but seems like it isn't gettin fuel. Others opinions possible coil or
distributor as starting fluid helped at least once. Another opinion is brain is getting too hot not grounded.

The Vortecs especially are very fuel pressure sensitive at a fairly high pressure. Check your pressure key on, engine off - let go see if it holds.
If an aftermarket pump which I've never dealt with from first warning they have a bad failure rate. GM whole units are good and of course cost more but so does getting stuck and redoing the same job over saving a buck. Could check for spark too but since the starting fluid trick worked it really points toward fuel pressure problems,

Make sure you're checking that pressure during the failure.

Thanks for you imput. Further checking has brought me to possibly Knock Sensor. Have you had any experience with this?
