Wolswagen Golf GLS
2.0 L 115 CV
Front wheel
89k

Seems that while coming out of a gas station, to avoid some coming cars I pushed the accelerator a little too harshly and the vehicle started to make some clunking noise in the front end. Right there and then the car slowed down and per fear of breaking something I came to a full stop. Once the car had been towed to my garage I'd noticed that the passenger front wheel doesn't spin freely, it goes as far as a 1/8" of a turn both sides then stops as opposed to the driver side wheel which spins without a problem. I had raised the car and had looked underneath the carriage but nothing catches my eye, nothing seems broken or worn out, nor do I see any metal parts rubbing with each other. Can anyone guess what it might be? or things I should check to find any probable causes.

Big Thanx

Check the brake caliper and see if the bolts fell out and jammed it against the inside of the wheel.

Thanx for your reply, I checked the break caliper and everything seems fine, I do see that the rotor needs some refurbishing, however the rotor is free of any debris or loose bolts , I am able to turn the rotor a few degrees as I was able to do with tire....I am wondering what is the name of the end of the shaft connected to the hub of the wheel.

good day

That's the C/V axle. I would suspect that your problems are going to be in the brakes somewhere. Maybe a brake pad wore out and got jammed in there.
